SIX Workout has amazing HIIT classes that are coached by Certified Trainers.  SIX Coaches demonstrate each exercise to show members proper form and provide exercise modifications. While teaching, the coach observes each member and works with them if their form is not correct. By correcting form it helps prevent injury, allows the member to increase their performance, breathe effectively, and enables them to have full range of motion… mind to muscle connection. 

Personal Training

SIX Personal Training Sessions give an opportunity to an individual who feels  less comfortable working out in a group setting or wants one-on-one coaching. Personal Trainers keep the client motivated and accountable, provide educated advice on certain exercises, and create different exercises to challenge the client to achieve their fitness goal. Personal Trainers also will work on modifying exercises if the client has a certain condition or an injury.

Nutrition

SIX Workout offers nutrition programs and nutrition challenges. These programs are facilitated by dedicated Certified Nutrition Coaches. The Kick Start Nutrition Program is a great way to focus on good eating habits and losing fat. The Nutrition Challenge is a healthy way to work in a group and compete with others to achieve a fit lifestyle through eating clean and exercise. The benefits of good nutrition may reduce the risk of some diseases, improve your well-being, and increase your energy level.

HOW EXERCISE AND NUTRITION STARTED IN THE U.S.

Francois Henri LaLanne aka Jack LaLanne (Sept. 26, 1914 – Jan. 23, 2011) was and American fitness and nutrition guru and motivational speaker.  At age 4 to 14, he was a “sugarholic” a “junk food” junkie and had behavioral problems. At the age of 15, he turned his life around after listening to Paul Bragg speaking about the benefits of good nutrition. Years later, Jack started speaking about the health benefits of regular exercise and a good diet. 

At the age of 21, he opened the first gym in Oakland, California in 1936. He called it “Jack LaLanne Physical Culture Studio”. In the 1950s, Jack had his own television exercise called “The Jack LaLanne Show” that was aimed towards women and whom he encouraged to join his health clubs. He also coached the elderly and disabled to enhance their strength. He was first to train athletes, women, and elderly with weights.

Jack had several inventions from exercise equipment to protein drinks and protein bars. In 1936, he invented the pulley and leg extension. In the 1950s he invented the Smith Machine and the first protein drink “Instant Breakfast” and protein bar. In the 1980s he invented the Glamour Stretch aka the resistance band. 

Jack LaLanne gained recognition as a bodybuilder and was unbelievably strong. At the age of 54 he defeated then 21-year-old Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr. Universe, in a push-up and chin-up contest in Venice, CA. Jack had a history of feats from the age of 40 – 70. He was an extraordinary man.

Jack LaLanne “The Godfather of Fitness” legacy lives on through every Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and Fitness Coach.
