Reconnecting with Wellness: Mind, Body, and Spirit

By May 19, 2020May 20th, 2020Blog

With the global pandemic shutting everyone indoors and temporarily closing businesses, like our beloved SIX studio, we have fewer activities to keep us in a balanced state of wellness than before.

This is a challenging time if you rely on regular gym visits to maintain your physical fitness. Stopping isn’t an option at SIX, so we recommend shifting your focus to your wellness!

In addition to the classes offered on our member’s Facebook page, you can be accountable for your overall wellness by activating other components of your well-being.

The Mind

Keeping your mind active is a choice! Make the right choices to ensure that you are healthy and free of stress or other negative feelings. One way to keep your mind active is to challenge yourself with puzzles or think of creative, new ideas for regular tasks.

Try stimulating your mind by creating a healthy meal with what you have in your pantry. Keeping your mind rolling with ideas is a good way to challenge yourself to think strategically.

The Body

Get your body moving! It’s no surprise that your physical well-being is a part of your overall wellness. We sweat it out in the gym all the time. Due to the stay-at-home order, we’re stuck at home. Take advantage of our interactive workouts on the members’ pages and be accountable!

You may not have equipment or space to do workouts at home, but don’t let it stop you from finding new ways to get moving. Try taking a long walk every day or set a daily step-count goal. Do what you can to keep up with your fitness goals and stay physically active.

The Spirit

Wellness can also be spiritual. During this unique period, you may have faced changes that left you feeling anxious, upset, or unhappy. The stress of having to deal with adapting to a new way of living can be exhausting. It is important to understand how you feel and why you feel that way. Do these feelings align with your values and morals?

Reflect on those feelings and develop the drive to ensure that they are in sync. Try meditation to get into the right mindset.

Wellness is a process. Don’t worry if you feel that you haven’t shifted into balanced well-being on the first try. Work on reconnecting with wellness every day as part of your routine, and you’ll see a difference in no time!

We are excited to get back into the SIX studio soon!
